Worst toy I have ever bought! December 27, 2008 M. Strieby I thought my 18-month-old would enjoy having his own markers. At first they didn't work at all, then the black marker exploded ink all over him, the paper, everything. It is washable, but I really had to scrub his skin to get it off. Next, he barely bumped the little car, and the whole thing went flying, getting ink all over the carpet (again, not as washable as I would have hoped). The only reason I gave the product one star is that he did enjoy putting the little animals in the car and taking them out again. Huge mess though- not worth it!!!
Huge Mess Potential December 17, 2008 Gillian Skow (Ketchikan, AK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These toddler markers are filled with liquid ink which soaks the writing pad when pressure is applied. With gentle pressure one can scribble thick lines. The problem is that toddlers never do anything gently. The first thing my 19 month old son did with these was pound them on his palm and the paper we put in front of him, making inky splashes on both. Fortunately he didn't throw them, but that would be the logical next move, resulting in inky splashes on walls and carpet. I don't need that no matter how washable the ink is. My son loves the little carrier with wheels that they came in, but we're not letting him play with the markers anymore, which we have christened "paint bombs." This is definitely a buy at your own risk product. There is nothing wrong with it, but you should know that you're buying something with the same mess potential as finger paint.
