My son loves this toy. He just got it for Christmas and it's kept this busy, short-attention-span, little boy entertained for quite some time. He loves to push the buttons to make it sing, move, and light up.
It has a variety of different songs/words which is nice and it is quite loud, so if you can't tune out noise, this may not be the toy to get. Being a mom of two kids, I've learned to tune out the songs that sound like, "to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump" quite well.
It's actually pretty durable for what it can do. He got another garbage truck for Christmas, but it's definitely not as durable. This one looks like it has more lasting power - and for a 2 year old boy, that says a lot.
As far as the other reviewer who had to re-wire her son's truck, I think she got a defective one. If you have issues like that, send it back. Ours has worked perfectly well - thank goodness, because I am no electrician, either. :(

My son ordered this truck for his 6th birthday with a gift card from his Uncle. Although he's a truck enthusiast (owning over 150 different types of toy trucks), he welcomed this into his collection. He loves the sounds, the power lift action and plays with it almost daily. Great toy!

My 1 1/2 yr old son probably has over a hundred toys. This is his favorite; even outshining the $100+ items that I have found for him. He'll press the button that starts the "to the dump" song, and then he dances to it. As another review mentioned, the truck is quite loud so I simply put some packing tape over the speaker to mute it a little. Not the most durable toy but if it breaks I'll buy another one. He LOVES it!

I bought this toy for a friend's son because I love to play with it. If you push the music button it plays.."to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump, dump". I love it! The kids like the moving parts and the other sounds too.
