Karate instruction March 11, 2007 Timothy Ingram (North Carolina) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Very good kit. The bag and floor mat helps, but is very slippery. The video is good, the best that I have seen thus far, however, there is very little instruction and a lot of play time.
BLACK BELTS FOREVER! January 11, 2007 It's fun! I like the kicks best.I like to punch the bag. I like Sensei nobu and Tommy Nitro. I like everything about it!I like learning Karate. I'm 7.
Not tough enough June 23, 2006 C. Niefert (Grand Rapids MI) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have 2 boys, age 5 and 7, and got this for them last Christmas. For two days straight, this is all they wanted to play with. At the end of day 2, however, the bag sprung a leak. After several failed attempts to repair it, the bag was shoved in the corner out of site. Today I tried to fix it again, nothing works so we have to throw it out. My boys are terribly sad. They still play with the outfits and watch the video, but it's just not the same. Their friends who also have this set have had the same problem.
Could be a lot better February 12, 2006 H. Laurence Greenblatt (Philly) 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this for my daughter who just had to have this. The bag is pretty flimsy, but for a small child, it is ok. The video that comes with it is pretty silly, but for a kid who is obsessed with the Power Rangers, that is also okay. I figured anything that would encourage her to train is a good thing. My biggest complaints are: 1) Even small children should be taught that you can start out with a black belt. 2) Technically they could have made it on par with the Power Rangers. The Poer Rangers may be silly, but they have very nice form. My daughter wrote her own review, that I recently found in my jacket pocket. I have included it below. Dear Tommy Nitro, I am a 7 year old girl who watched your black belt video. You get your inside blocks and outside blocks mixed up. I also go to karate school. You also don't look back when you do your back kicks as you should. My friend Alyssa and I would like to be on your next Black Belt DVD and do our blocks and kicks right. Thank you, Martine Greenblatt
A toy that really kicks butt! January 15, 2006 Johnna R. Cook (Columbus, IN) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
My nine year old loves this toy. He is so into electronics that I thought I'd never get him away from video games. With this toy he still gets to stay inside in front of the T.V., but he is getting excercise which I love and learning basic karate which he loves.
