5 out of 5 stars Fun for the whole family   January 6, 2009
Kathy (St. Augustine, FL)
We found this game to be fun for the whole family. Even my 4 year old plays, but he just makes up something to sculpt, rather than reading it off of the cards. The rules are simple, however we were not doing the scoring right the first time we played. We did receive the game with dried out clay, but replaced it with a crayola model magic clay that is soft and easy to form. Would definitely recommend this game.

5 out of 5 stars Great game for all ages   December 16, 2008

This game is really fun for all ages. We played it with a family group from ages 5 to 75! So many laughs! It allows lots of creativity. Only one problem. The clay was dried up when it arrived, so we had to buy some playdough. But it was well worth it!

3 out of 5 stars Nice fun game   September 30, 2008
Poornima Balakrishna (VA, U.S.A)
We principally bought this game because we were impressed by Wits and Wagers by the same manufacturer. While not as entertaining, we still have lots of fun with Cluzzle. The game is suitable for several age groups. The scoring scheme described seemed a little unintuitive, but we just reversed the rule to make it alright. Overall, a nice party game that can be enjoyed by groups of four or more.

3 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE   August 24, 2008

EDIT - UPDATE

I originally rated this product three stars. I now have further information and on the basis of that rate only one star, though Amazon won't let me change my original star rating.

Here's the new information (original review is at the bottom)

BEWARE. As I noted in an earlier review, when we got this game the clay was no good. We asked the company to replace it.

We now have their response. They refuse. They say that the game was originally manufactured by a company that put bad clay in it, and when the company went out of business in 2006, their inventory of bad clay copies of the game were liquidated and sold to various companies.

Obviously, two years later, the bad games are still on the market.

Now North Star Games refuses to replace the bad clay in those games with usable clay. They say they can't afford to do that. So here we are, left with a useless game that the company won't stand behind.

If you are thinking of buying this game, MAKE SURE IT IS NOT ONE OF THE COPIES MANUFACTURED BY EAGLE GAMES (their name is on the lower left corner of the front of the box, at least on our copy). If it is, you will be wasting your money on a useless game.

If it is one of the newer version, you may be okay. It seems other people have bought the later versions, and are satisfied. I can't say.

But be aware that North Star apparently doesn't stand behind its games. They were the ones who made the mistake of selecting this company to partner with them, their name is on the box, but they expect the customer to pay for their mistake in choosing a bad supplier. That's their choice, but not trusting them ever again as a game company is my choice.

"Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me."

North Star has fooled me once by letting me buy a game with their name on it that I can't play and they won't stand behind. I won't give them the chance to do that again.

Whether you choose to trust this company is up to you. You have the information: do with it what you will.

Original review:

We opened this game tonight to play with the family after dinner, but the clay in it was all dried up and unusable. We have asked the company to replace the clay, but until they do we can't play it.

We did read through the rules and try a round with drawing instead of sculpting. The substitution wasn't all that successful, but I can see that if we had good clay the game could be a lot of fun. So for the time being it only gets three stars. If we get the replacement clay and get to play it properly, I may send in a new review.

One caveat. The game really only works for a maximum of six players. We have a family of seven, so two people had to share one place. So if you have a bigger family or set of friends, this isn't the game to try.

5 out of 5 stars Thought it would be really kiddish--NOT SO!   March 28, 2008
Daniel Tavernier (Atlanta, GA)
GREAT GAME! Best played with more players (5 or 6), but less will do. We purchased this game for my father. We were not sure if it would be fun or not, but it was only $15 at the time so we gave it a try. We thought it would be like "Sculturates" from Cranium, but it is much more of a puzzle. You have have to make your sculpture hard enough to not be guess on the first round, but easy enough to guess by the third round. Oh, and you want as few people to get it as possible--trickier than it sounds!
