  • Piano Roll-up CJ is the resident musician at A. S. & S., and he can play this roll-up keyboard to a fare-thee-well." It sounds great," he says, "and it doesn't get any more portable than this."
  • About nine steps beyond nifty, this extremely cool electronic keyboard unrolls to 25-1/4" long x 5-1/4" but the 1/8"-thick rubber-membrane keyboard rolls up around the sound module to become the exact size of healthy ham and cheese sandwich.
  • It has (26) different tones, (99) rhythms, (10) demo songs, a (3) octave range and it runs on (3) "AAA" batteries that we've included. The business end has volume, power, function, start and stop controls, a built-in 1-3/4" speaker, headphone output and jacks for a 6VDC 300mA adapter 3.
  • 5mm plug (not included) And if you let the cat play on it, we bet you'll get Phillip Glass tunes.

3 out of 5 stars my son is 8 he really likes it, it's a bit dodgy though.   March 11, 2008
As I said my son is 8 and really likes it. It is a bit dodgy. It has to be on a very flat surface to work properly.

He still like it though. The head phone feature is great!!! So when he practices I don't have to hear it unless he needs help.

Over all as a toy its a 4. Saving me from needing a piano its a 7.

5 out of 5 stars great!   February 11, 2008

This works great!
No problems with dead keys.
I'm not a piano player, but I
love singing. I keep it on my dashboard
so I can identify notes on the radio
while I am stuck in traffic.
I bring it to singing practice to keep
us on key. Love it.

4 out of 5 stars All Roll Out Keyboards Are Not The Same....Giovanni Keyboard Is Best Quality   January 9, 2008

I have tried three different roll out keyboards, and, like the other reviewers, was very disappointed in the cheaper models. I am a musician and I liked the idea of having a keyboard that I can take with me on the road so that when I am in my hotel room and get an idea for a song, I can pull it out and record my idea and save it. After the disappointment of the first two keyboards, I saw the Giovanni Roll Out Keyboard on an infomercial. It was a little more expensive but when I received it, the quality of the product was much better from the very start. All the keys worked, it came with headphones, a microphone, a midi jack to use with your computer, you can plug it into your stereo system and it had over 36 different instruments in the synthesizer. The sound quality when plugged into good speakers is amazing! They have a money back guarantee but when my friend tried to order it, they were sold out until January (which tells me the product must be selling very well) It also comes with an overlay and a book to teach you the keys of the piano for beginners. I give the Giovanni Roll Out keyboard 4 stars and the others 0. The quality is night and day and they back up their product with a 100% guarantee. Just watch for the commercial, dont buy a cheap replica because you get what you pay for. You can also do a google search for "Giovanni Piano" and they have a website.

2 out of 5 stars Buy a real keyboard for about the same price as these roll jobs!   January 23, 2007
 27 out of 30 found this review helpful

I bought one of these and 5 of the keys were dead on arrival. I was sent a replacement that worked after that but I still don't think these things are worth the price. The sound quality on most of them is hideous when compared to a comparably priced keyboard. I was almost ready to buy a 61 key version for $100 and then saw a Yamaha YPT-300 for $114 with stand and DC adapter included. That's cheaper than some of the other 61 key roll jobs and this thing blows the doors off even the most tricked out of them. Just read these features for the Yamaha and you won't ever look at a roll piano again. Aside from the novelty and portability, they have little to offer for the price.

Features:
* 61 Full-Size, Touch-Sensitive Keys and 32-note polyphony.
* Split keyboard mode - play two instrument voices at once!
* Backlit LCD shows off the musical staff and chords as you play.
* 482 high-quality instrument Voices (108 panel Voices, 361 XGlite Voices, 12 Drum Kits and Sound Effect Kit) and 106 accompaniment Styles
* Two-track Easy Recording - Record and save up to five of your original songs
* Real Stereo Speakers - Don't be fooled! Just because a keyboard has two speakers doesn't mean that they're truly stereo speakers. Each of the speakers in the YPT300 has separate amplifiers with stereo-sampling technology.
* Yamaha Education Suite 5 - Fifth version of the acclaimed Yamaha intuitive tutorial system makes learning and practicing music easier and more fun than ever before with 102 built-in songs
* USB/MIDI connectivity - connect to your PC! Download songs from the Internet into the Flash ROM, then learn to play them
* Portable Grand button - Instantly call up Yamaha's world famous grand piano sound
* Chord Dictionary - The Chord Dictionary function teaches you how to read and play chords
* Sound Effect Kit - Play a variety of unique sound effects and DJ sounds directly from the keyboard
* Intuitive panel control layout and elegant, new design
* Bass Ports - A special port on each speaker adds a powerful impact to bass sound reproduction.
* Metronome - Keep the beat! A fully adjustable metronome is built-in, and just a touch away.
* 9 Types of Reverb
* 4 Types Chorus
* Tempo Range 32 - 280
* Transpose -12 to 0, 0 to +12
* Power Supply Adaptor (PA-3B/3C), or batteries (Six "AA" size, LR6 or equivalent batteries) - both not included
* Port for adding an optional Sustain pedal

The roll up pianos are all variants of a single terrible design.

Unplayable.
