Great Game for the whole family! April 8, 2008 This is a great game. We have all 3 blokus games, but this one is the most challenging and most fun. We play this game daily!
Love it! March 22, 2008 I received this as a Christmas gift from my mom after telling her I wanted a few board games. She bought it because of the good reviews. This was the perfect gift for me. I love puzzles and "Tetris style" games. Soon my whole family was a fan too. My mom has since purchased the original Blokus for herself, 2 travel sizes for other family members and another Trigon for my sister-in-law. (Trigon is still my favorite version.) You can even play it online with people from all over the world!
If you enjoy puzzles, I guarantee you will not regret buying this game!
Great family game January 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
If your family likes to play board games, this one is great, even for 5 year olds. It has strategy, it is easy, and fun. I like it because even young children can play and win. My only suggestion is to count the pieces each time before you put the game away, and again before you play or someone may end up with a disadvantage. It is made by the same people who made Blokus which is also a great game with slightly different stategies.
Blokus is fun for the whole family! January 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This game is fun for kids, adults and both at the same time. It is challenging and rewarding while filling up the board. My wife is a 3rd grade teacher and they have this game in her classroom. She brought it home one weekend and both my 7 year old and 4 year old loved it - though not quite as much as me! It is a good game in that it teaches spacial relationships, math and strategy trying to make all of your pieces fit while blocking the other players.
Blokus Trigon - good mixed age game for 4 players January 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
For Christmas, I bought this game for our 3-year-old niece (who just turned 4 on New Year's Eve). The first time that we (3 adults) played this game with her, we were very lenient with the rules (only for her) and we all had a great time! I can see that after a few times of playing this game, that she'll be able to play with the official rules and will do very well! She had a terrific time and wanted to play it again immediately!!
The competitive/territorial aspect of the game most likely will appeal all children! But in addition, the playing tiles are pretty (almost like the plastic jewels made for little girls' jewelry) and as the game ensues, one can see an abstract mosaic taking form on the board (which appeals to all children with artistic tendencies, especially girls who like to make arts and crafts projects where the final product is pretty)!
The game helps to develop an awareness of abstract shapes, counting, strategy/logical thinking/planning ahead and a healthy sense of competition & fair play, too. For chilren under 6 I would suggest that an adult help to supervise, or join in the game to keep it moving smoothly forward.
