Probably for 6+ older... October 11, 2008 Brent A. Paul (Yokota, Japan) For the most part this was a good toy. I got this for my 5 year-old on his birthday, but most of the pieces are a little too complex for him. Also, the base plate Lego that you build Legos on is way too small (may 3" X 3") to build things one. Lastly, the pamphlet shows great ideas on what you can build with the Legos, but only SHOWS you how to make about 10 of them.
Great Set for Diverse Building September 19, 2008 Zen the Pirate 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We bought this set for my 4 year old son for his birthday and it was/is an immediate hit with him and his 7 year old sister. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is more of a starter set than an ultimate set, but if you read the product review you will see that at 400 pieces it is not the largest (or most expensive) set. The tub is terrific for storage and is big enough to hold constructed pieces between building sessions. We'll be adding more sets with specialized pieces, building plates, etc. But this kit does have lots of options for building houses, cars, helicopters, airplanes animals etc. Given that and compared to some of the other sets, this is actually a pretty good bargain for $25.
Great addition! August 14, 2008 Kimberly Cox, MD, Ph.D. (Chicago, IL) Great addition to any existing lego set. Lots of great and useful pieces. My children love it!
Legos are a fun toy for all ages. May 25, 2008 J. Tvedt (Minnesota) I work with kids (4th -8th grade) and their families. I've found that legos are a great activity for the families to do together. It's amazing to see families communicating as they build little towns, cars and houses.
LEGOS FOR THE FUTUR BUILDER May 14, 2008 Anna Aldredge (Encino, California) Although Legos are the ultimate toy for creativity and imagination, it would be nice if the size of the Legos were made clear to the buyer. My grandchildren love to play with Legos but now I have 3 different sizes which makes it hard for the two of them to share since none of the boxes of Legos has enough pieces for 2 children to play with. I do most of my shopping on line and I wish that Legos would make it clear as to the size and number of pieces of the Legos contained in the box.
