Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Product Description
Ideal for children just learning to get around on their own, the Kettrike Happy Navigator tricycle boasts several versatile features for kids and the grownups who love them. The trike employs Kettler's telescoping Quick-Adjust frame, which invites parents to expand the trike each time their toddler experiences a growth spurt. The telescoping frame is a must for parents who don't want to ditch the trike after just a few months of use.

Kids will also love the Auto-Freewheel function, which lets them rest their feet on the pedals while a parent guides them around with the pushbar. And thanks to the Parental Control steering lock system, kids won't be able to steer the trike in random directions while the grownups push. Other details include a patented rear wheel steering system with an on/off mechanism and Safety-Trax wheels with a dual-layer safety tread wheel pattern that keeps the trike from spinning on wet pavement or other slippery surfaces. As with all Kettrikes, the Happy Navigator is backed by a three-year warranty.

Product Description
The Happy Navigator makes it easier for Mom and Dad to maneuver their little one's trike. The Navigator Mechanism has a simple On/Off switch under the frame to activate it; no cables needed. Lock the front handle bars with the Patented Parental Control Steering Lock System and you are in control to use the Happy Navigator just like a stroller. (Push bar included) Creative Child Seal of Excellence Award Winner!! Measures 25" x 20" x 21". Holds up to 400 pounds.

5 out of 5 stars the pefect trike   September 2, 2008
William Cartwright (Chicago, IL)
We bought this trike for our 2 year old son as a birthday gift, he absolutely loves it, and it is very easy to put together. The parential steering is easy to use,and easy to turn off. Now if we could just get him to get off it it would be nice, but as long as he is happy thats all that matters.

4 out of 5 stars Great Trike   June 27, 2008

We got this tricycle with the attachment for two kids and so far we love it. I am a nurse, not an engineer, and I assembled it myself. It's true that the directions are horrible but I took my time and did just fine. Plan for a few hours of assembly. Giving it four stars because we haven't had it long enough to give it 5.

4 out of 5 stars Great Tricycle With A Great Assembly Challenge   March 3, 2008
Y. Suh (Brooklym. NY)
Why we like this tricycle:
- Front handle bar locking system
- Rear wheel axil can be unlocked so an adult can maneuver the tricycle with the push pole
- Optional seat belt
- Well built to withstand toddler's abuse
- Front wheel foot paddles can be locked so they do not turn when an adult is pushing the tricycle
- Aesthetically pleasing
- The tricycle body can be adjusted to fit any child's height
- My 17-month old loves it

Why we complain about this tricycle:
- Assembly instruction manual is IMPOSSIBLE to decipher. Will take a LONG time to complete the assembly.
- Front wheel foot paddle locking system does not work properly.

4 out of 5 stars great bike, terrible directions   October 5, 2007

Really terrible directions! And I never have problems with directions. I've put together every kid toy & ikea shelf without pause. But these were inexplicable. At one point I got so frustrated I walked away and told my husband to finish it. He got so frustrated he ended up pushing something the wrong way, it got stuck and broke and we had to wait an extra ten days to get up and running because we had to buy recplacement parts. I love the bike of course - it's great. I write this review in hopes that someone at the company will take a realistic look at those directions... or maybe they just want to sell replacement parts. I don't know.
One last thing - I thought this was the one with the bigger seat, but it's not. That was a disappointment. I don't know who writes the descriptions, but they make it kind of hard to tell the many bikes apart. I'm really glad I got the seat-belt because otherwise my daughter would slide right off the small seat.

5 out of 5 stars Great bike!!!   September 4, 2007

This item has been a BIG hit in the family for my 2 year old and my 3 1/2 year old. They both fight over it. I love that I can navigate from the back and set the pace and place of our destination. The adjustments from parent propelled to child propelled are quick and easy, very nice for the impatient child(I have two of them). My only beef is the instructions, no words, and pictures that even my maginifying glass could not help with, lots of parts; but once it was together, I loved it. We use it every day!!!
